Box making
Box making
Box Making is a live performance of a sculptural piece that explores how forms in nature are created.
Do trees care about how they look, or do they simply grow by following certain rules?
In this performance, I use ritualistic and meditative process to reflect on how shapes relate to the material. Creating with a rule-based system. I mix plaster with water and pour it into a non-transparent square box. Then I rotate the box on a map by following the same direction mapped on a canvas. AlThough the rotation follows the same path each time, the final plaster forms are different.
